I am so excited to kick off the 2024/2025 Kindervelt year. Our first leadership meeting is right around the corner on Sept. 9th and we are looking forward to welcoming Dr Daniel T. Starczynowski. We will have the opportunity to hear directly about the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center breakthrough research, and how Kindervelt will help to accelerate their life saving work.
As we start the new year and the partnership with the new division, I feel there is an importance to ensure we are meeting people where they are in the community we serve. Kindervelt has a unique group structure that allows us to become deeply connected with our immediate communities around the tri state area. It is an opportunity to educate them about Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and invite others to join us embracing our focus of “Together we can make a difference”.
The Fall event, Casino Royale, is right around the corner on Oct. 26th . Please mark your calendars for a fun filled night with casino games, delicious food, and dance the night away with Blue Water Kings live band. Please spread the word and invite friends and family. We are also seeking sponsorship for the event, please share sponsorship opportunities for the event. Kindervelt’s Fall Event will be featured on Channel 5 on Sept 5th and is already in Movers and Makers publication as an upcoming Cincinnati fundraising event to attend.
Did you know, September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month but also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? Did you know that 40% of all childhood cancers are blood cancers? This month is dedicated to raising awareness of blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. As members of Kindervelt, we have a unique opportunity to amplify our support of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s Advanced Leukemia Therapies & Research Center.
Lastly, the Kindervelt branding refresh is moving forward and are eager to share it with the broader Kindervelt organization soon.
I would like to leave you with this quote, recognizing all of us as volunteers and the important role we play in our community.
“Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.” Bill Clinton.
