It’s hard to believe it’s already over midway through the summer. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and your time with friends and family has been memorable. There have been some great Kindervelt events this summer, including KV #16 Annual Golf outing and KV #49’s “Let’s Laugh for Kids’ Sake” comedy show. What would summer be without some sweet treats? Bake sales are in full swing at CCHMC’s main campus. Don’t forget to swing by to pick up your sweet treats. My sincere thanks to all those folks who have already brought in support for the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center; our new 4-year commitment.
As we all know Kindervelt never sleeps and in that spirit the Board of Trustees members have been busy this summer getting ready for the upcoming Kindervelt 24/25 year. We met to kick off the 2-year strategy for our DOING MORE GOOD TOGETHER vision. We discussed what makes Kindervelt unique and what Kindervelt means to us. Statements like “Kindervelt is fun and fulfilling” and “Kindervelt is a Talented group of Women” were amongst many other unique attributes shared. “Community & friendship” and “supportive community” were common themes of what Kindervelt means for the BOT members. We had so many great ideas to support our Kindervelt vision that we are meeting again on July 31st. I am so excited to share the finalized strategy with all of you when we kick off the Kindervelt Season this August.
The BOT aligned to move forward with a Marketing Agency to develop a Marketing Strategy to help drive broader awareness of our organization with the foundational goal of raising more funds for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The first phase will focus on branding and we look forward to the refreshed look of Kindervelt in partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Marketing department.
The Fall event planning is in full swing and we are so excited for this year’s event on October 26th. Mark your calendar for a fun night at Casino Royale.
I would like to leave you with this quote, which is a source of inspiration for myself, and hopefully others in our Kindervelt family.
“Kindervelt is unique, it is one group among many; it is many groups within one. It is next to impossible to number the people affected by Kindervelt and its association with Cincinnati Children’s.”
This was the first line of the essay submitted to The Enquirer for their Annual Women’s Clubs Contest in 1973 which made it to the finals and finished in 2nd place.
