Her introduction to the Kindervelt #68 group came through meeting Pat Wahl who lived in the same neighborhood. Pat invited Kathy to come to a meeting and she found herself becoming very involved with KV#68. There were two groups in the Western Cincinnati area and #68 was the smaller of the two groups. But one of the busiest! Kathy took on many positions over the years. In her group she has been both President and Treasurer. For City Board of Trustees, Kathy volunteered as West Region Leadership Chair, 2 years as Project Chair, and 2 years as Vice-President under Bonnie Hueneman. She has currently revised her stint as West Region Leadership Chair. When thinking about her volunteer activities, she really considers herself a great worker bee – always willing to step in and help with all the many projects and events that KV #68 put together.

Their next big project is –Tee Off for the Kids– a spring Golf event fund raiser at Aston Oaks Golf Club on May 6th. Diana Peters and Bonnie Hueneman are co-Chairs. Kathy and hubby Marty will be there working one of the Hole Events! Check out Flyer for info!

When Kathy was President, she came up with our KV motto ”Raising Funds while having Fun.”

And yes, she has had lots of fun through her 29 years as a KV member. Her outside interests include traveling to vacation spots, gardening, attending estate auctions and auction sites and of course grandparenting.

A special quote that is framed and hanging on her wall was given to her by her best friend. It says, “Have Friends not for the sake of receiving but of giving.”
