Member Spotlight – Jennie Strode

October’s feature member is Jennie Strode. Jennie is originally from New Jersey – just a few miles away from New York City. She is one of four kids who found life near the Big Apple an adventure. What brought her to the Cincinnati area? Jennie said that there is a large contingent of New Jersey families and students who are aware of Miami University and come to the Midwest to future their education. Jennie majored in Architecture and while at Miami University she met her future husband.

After graduation she followed Ryan to Chicago where she worked with an architecture firm. Their next move brought them back to the Cincy area moving to Amberly Village. She and Ryan have two daughters, and she combines motherhood with working in a corporate Real Estate company.

As her daughters were growing up and attending school she met other mothers in the area. She was invited by neighbors Traci Wiseman and Tara Jones to join KV #65 in Pleasant Ridge. She is an 11-year member of our great organization. She has held the long-time position of Project Chair and keeps her group and their projects on track with hospital guidelines. KV #65 holds a yearly Garden Party and an annual Wine Tasting Event. This is held at the Coffee Exchange in Pleasant Ridge. The venue closes and owner, Sarah Peters (KV#65) opens the doors for a fun evening of Wine and Fellowship. Nothing like tipping a glass of wine for Kindervelt!

Jennie is currently holding the position of City-Wide Vice President. She will follow Suzanne as City- Wide President. She is also working with the Fall Event – “Denim & Diamonds” chairs planning for a fun evening. See above for the Fall Event info.

Jennie loves working in her garden, playing Mahjong and reading. She and her husband, Ryan have recently started bike riding as a new adventure. A favorite quote states that ” Life is about making choices and then being happy with those choices.”

She leaves us with this compliment. “Kindervelt is a community of wonderful women. Being involved with KV leads to that good feeling of being rewarded by being able to be a member and give back to CCHMC.”

Thank you, Jennie for your involvement!
