Deepest Sympathy – Tracy Smith

The Kindervelt Board and broader membership extend their deepest sympathy to Tracy Smith’s husband and family.

Tracy joined Kindervelt in 1995 after connecting with other members while serving as a Cub Scout den leader, becoming a proud member of KV #57 Northeast (formerly Landen).

She quickly became deeply involved, holding numerous leadership roles within her group and citywide including several terms as her group President. She chaired Ruffles and Raffles and was her group’s Markt Rep (Kindervelt Krafts) for several years.

Tracy served as Citywide Markt Chair in 2011 and held several Citywide Board of Trustee positions, leading to her role as Citywide President in 2016–18. She also chaired the Kindervelt Fall Event for several years. She was the Barbara Fitch recipient in 2014. She has been our Technology chair since June 2020.

On a personal note, Tracy was a gifted pottery artisan who showcased her work at outdoor art shows through her home studio,The Klay Room. She also enjoyed computer design and creative printing, and shared a country home with her husband Mitch, surrounded by animals she loved.

A memorial reception was held in Tracy’s honor from 2 to 4pm on February 7th at Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, 513 West Pike St, Morrow, Oh. Following the gathering at the funeral home, the family invites everyone to their home at 5410 Roachester Osceola Rd in Morrow to spend time together, share memories, and support one another. Bringing a dish or dessert is appreciated but not expected—your presence alone means a great deal to them.
