Can you believe we’re already past the halfway mark of summer? I hope you’re all soaking up the sun and making wonderful memories with your loved ones. It’s been a fantastic start to the season for Kindervelt filled with amazing events like KV#16’s Annual Golf Outing and KV#49’s “Let’s Laugh for Kids’ Sake” comedy show. Thanks to your support we are off to a strong start in our second year for the Advanced Leukemia Therapies and Research Center!
As always, Kindervelt is buzzing with activity! The Board of Trustee Members (BOT) have been hard at work this summer gearing up for the exciting Kindervelt 25/26 year. We recently met to kick off year two of our “DOING MORE GOOD TOGETHER” vision. Our focus this year is all about fostering deeper engagement within our community and building on the awareness we created last year. We’re also examining what it would take to reach a goal of a $1 million gift to the Advanced Leukemia Therapies & Research Center in year four of our commitment.
We have some exciting strategies in place, including the development of a citywide marketing plan, emphasizing that every dollar counts, and enhancing support for our group presidents. The ideas we discussed were inspiring, and I can’t wait to share our finalized strategy with all of you as we kick off the Kindervelt season in August!
I’d also like to take a moment to recognize our fantastic summer intern, Aparna Krishna, a Senior at Indiana University. Aparna has joined us pro bono, driven by her passion for community service. She has been instrumental in advancing our BOT’s key priorities this summer, making significant progress on the Citywide Marketing Program, creating a marketing strategy for our Denim & Diamonds Fall Event, and laying the groundwork for a potential new citywide Danceathon event, inspired by her experiences at Indiana University. Thank you, Aparna, for your hard work and dedication!
Now, let’s talk about our upcoming Fall event! Planning is in full swing for this year’s Denim & Diamonds on November 7th. Be sure to mark your calendars for what promises to be a fun night at the Mojave East Event Center!
As we look forward to the Kindervelt 25/26 year, I want to leave you with a beautiful thought:

Thank you all for being such an incredible part of our Kindervelt family. I’m excited for all that’s to come!
