We have officially completed our first year supporting the Division of Advanced Leukemia Research Center, a partnership that underscores our commitment to impactful change in the field of pediatric oncology. At the annual meeting we presented a check for $665,000, which is amazing and the second highest in the 52-year history of Kindervelt. Everyone was so excited and Dr. Daniel T. Starczynowski was at a loss for words. This contribution will significantly aid in expediting the transition of scientific discoveries into lifesaving therapies, aligning perfectly with their bench-to-bedside strategy.
We also honored this year’s Barbara Fitch 2025 Award Winner, Pat Krumm. Her dedication is commendable and an inspiration to all. A special congratulations go to our milestone members. It was so fun to have Keith Henize, lead us in a fun game of “Deal or no Deal” to reveal the annual gift amount. I also want to thank Liz Frederick, our Annual Meeting Chair, for planning a memorable evening.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all Kindervelt members and supporters. Your passion and dedication inspire me every day, and I’m proud to be part of such an extraordinary group of women. Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishments—it’s an honor to lead this remarkable organization.
In my first year as President, I’ve been inspired by our shared commitment to “doing more good together.” We’re laying the foundation for Kindervelt’s next 50 years with clear goals and impactful initiatives. This year brought exciting progress: new leadership roles, a refreshed brand and website, our first billboard campaign, media features, membership growth, and a stronger social media presence.
I’m grateful and energized to continue leading Kindervelt and to work alongside such incredible women in support of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
The Kindervelt Family never sleeps and has fundraisers already in place to kick off year 2 of our partnership with the Division of Advanced Leukemia Research Center. Check out the upcoming KV #16 Golf Outing June 2nd so you don’t miss out on the Golf ball drop. Gear up for a night of laughs at the KV #49 Comedy Club on June 10th.
As we conclude this year, I would like to leave you with a quote from Abraham Lincoln: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment. Together, we are making a difference! Enjoy the summer.
Suzanne Nemeth
Kindervelt City President
