As I reflect on my first year as President of Kindervelt, I am continually inspired by the incredible commitment and passion of our members. Our focus on “doing more good together” has never felt more relevant. We are strategically positioning Kindervelt for the next 50 years, guided by clear objectives, goals, strategies, and measures. This year, we have made significant strides: establishing new roles, unveiling a new logo and branding guidelines, launching our first billboard campaign, gaining features in Mover and Makers and Sophisticated Giving, expanding our membership, revitalizing our social media presence, and launching our newly designed website.
I am looking forward to our 2024/2025 Annual Meeting on May 22nd at the Terrace Park Country Club. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a year of remarkable achievements and look ahead to our future. This year marks our first year supporting the Division of Advanced Leukemia Research Center, a partnership that demonstrates our commitment to impactful change in pediatric oncology. We’ll be presenting our annual gift to Dr. Daniel T. Starczynowski, head of the Research Center. This contribution will significantly aid in expediting the transition of scientific discoveries into lifesaving therapies, perfectly aligning with their bench-to-bedside strategy.
I’ve had the pleasure of attending several Kindervelt group events in recent weeks, and I must say, I had a fantastic time! From the Stein holding contest at KV #50’s event to tasting amazing wines at the KV #65 event. There are still so many events before we close out the year. Some of these events include KV #68 Golf outing May 5th, KV #49 Sip N Shop May 14th, and various bake sales. Let’s keep the momentum going in support of the Advanced Leukemia Research Center.
A quick reminder: dues for membership for the upcoming Kindervelt year are due June 1st. You’ll receive an email reminder, but I encourage you to renew proactively. I just renewed mine, and it feels great to take care of it before the summer season kicks in!
I am truly energized and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Kindervelt organization for another year. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by such incredible women united in our mission to improve the lives of children through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment. Together, we are making a difference!
As we conclude this year, I’d like to leave you with a quote from Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Looking forward to the upcoming Kindervelt year as we kick off our second year of supporting the Advanced Leukemia Research Center and growing awareness of Kindervelt.
Suzanne Nemeth
Kindervelt City President
